Top Canadians to Watch in NCAA March Madness 2016


The NCAA men Tournament is just days away, the field is set and the madness is on its peak. The one month of the year where suddenly almost everyone becomes a college basketball expert. With selection Sunday taking place on March 15, CBS will reveal which teams did enough to make the field of 68. The March Madness 2016 Men Tournament starts off March 17-18 with the First Four games taking place at UD Arena in Dayton, Ohio.

There is so much focus on Kitchener’s Jamal Murray, there are several other Canadian players too who could play great roles for their teams this month.
Here is the list of some top Canadian players who you could look out for NCAA men’s basketball tournament.
1. DILLION BROOKS- (Oregon Sophomore)
DILLION BROOKS

He has been the member of Canada’s Senior National Team which won the Silver medal at 2015 Pan American games. He has started almost every game i.e. 33 out of 36 with ducks and reached double digit points in 24 contests. Has impressive shooting average of 58% from the floor, 35% from three-point land and 70% at charity stripe. He is also known for his ability to handle the ball and as a good decision maker.

2. MYCHAL MULDER- (Kentucky Junior)

MYCHAL MULDER


Mulder was recruited from Vincennes University class of 2015 and committed to Kentucky in April 2015.  He has been rated as no.18, Junior college prospect and no.5 Junior College shooting guard. During his freshman campaign he has an average of 8.6 points and 4.6 rebounds while shooting 38.3% from long range. Originally he is a member of 2013 class where he was considered top 10 prospects of Canada at that time.

3. KYLE WILTJER- (GONZAGA SENIOR)
KYLE WILTJER

He is a Canadian-American basketball player, who has spent two seasons with Kentucky men;s basketball team. He holds citizenship of U.S as well as of Canada but has committed himself to Canada. Wiltjer is best as a shooter as he has showed his capacity to make variety of shots. He also made an impressive 67.5% of his non post up look and demonstrated top notch timing and shooting touch,

4. STEFAN JANKOVIC-(HAWAII JUNIOR)
STEFAN JANKOVIC

He started his season at University of Missouri. He has played in 25 games and made two starts vs South Carolina State and Georgia. He averaged 3.0 points and 1.4 rebounds and reached double digit by scoring in back to back games. He scored 14 points in the win over Tennessee State and 11 against South Carolina State. An excellent foul shooter too, hitting 18 out of 20 tries.

He was named the 2014-15 Spalding NJCAA, Division 1 Player of the year after he averaged 22.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per game at Northwest College in Wyoming. He has scored in double digits in all except two out of 34 games he played.

6. JAMAL MURRAY-(KENTUCKY FRESHMAN)
JAMAL MURRAY

At 2015 Nike Hoop Summit he scored a game high of 30 points and was named the MVP. He is considered a top prospect for 2016 NBA draft. He wont the MPV Award at the 2015 Biosteel All Canadian Basketball game. He was named to the 35 man-midseason watchlist for Naismith Trophy. He represented Canada at 2013 FIBA Americas Under 16 Championship and averaged 17 points,6 rebounds and 2.4 steals.
